The Footpath Library is pleased to call IMB Bank Community Foundation supporters in our mobile library service at Martin Place, Sydney, having received funding for the past two years.
IMB Bank Community Foundation understands that not-for-profit and volunteer organisations are the backbone of local communities and need financial support to help Australians in their time of need.
‘What is wonderful about IMB is that they’re a bank that has community at the heart of what they do,’ says Sarah Garnett. ‘When we spoke to IMB, staff had seen first-hand the homelessness situation in Sydney’s CBD and were keen to support us as Australia’s only free-giving library for people experiencing homelessness.’
IMB Bank Community Foundation provides much-needed financial support at a time when The Footpath Library was re-building after the COVID-19 pandemic; funds help with specialty books and reading glasses, as well as ensuring that our volunteers have branded hoodies, caps and polo shirts.
‘At IMB, we recognise that financial backing is what will help drive initiatives that tackle specific community challenges,’ says IMB Bank Chief Executive Robert Ryan. ‘We have seen the real difference that The Footpath Library has made to the lives of people experiencing homelessness, and we are proud to support the initiative.’
