Meet Sydney volunteer: Kelly-Anne Packer

“I heard about The Footpath Library quite soon after I arrived in Australia. I was looking for a meaningful charity to get involved with, so I had a little active search and came across you guys. I thought it sounded interesting and I have always loved books.

One of the things I love about TFL is that I really find it rewarding but I know the people who come along, and I get to know their name, know how they like their tea, and we have a little chat.

But it’s so much more than tea and coffee and a book that we offer; it’s a sense of community. The same people come back week after week, and it’s a privilege to get to know them and their story. I love going along and seeing the regulars. It’s a huge part of why I love it, it’s a community.”
